the Cause

I am writing today because I really believe in this cause. There are things I believe in that are not important and that don't effect our everyday lives, but this one does. I ask all of you to consider reading this and offering up your support of the cause.

When I was younger, much younger than I am now, and older than I was previous to then, I did not pay enough attention to the things that mattered, to the things that really made our lives more better and more blessed. I did not yet find the cause.

But now I have. And I hope when you read this you will also share my enthusiasm and join me in helping in any way you can. I know a lot of you are broke alcoholics, and that's fine, no judgement that you know of, but even then, in some ways, I implore you to help with the cause.

I always wanted to be an alcoholic. But it didn't work. Like in all things, I eventually grew bored, became smothered by an add sense of ennui, and spit it all out and went to sleep.

But that's neither here nor there.

Today I only ask one thing: that you read this and share you thoughts and energies with your loved ones, if you have any, about the cause. Nothing can get done when everyone stands on the sidelines, drinking rum and diet coke with a lot of lime, or a $20 cab that we've all agreed has a good rating with Wine Spectator and has some stuff balanced and reminiscent of some weird plants that nobody in their right mind would want to eat, like pomegranate.

So please, if you can, take some time to ponder helping the cause, set aside your trivial pursuits, like Instagram and children, and spend at least a few hours helping with the cause.
